Archdiocese of Kansas City, KS Pronounces Transition to AHG for Catholic Scouting Troops

On May 1, 2017, Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann announced the transition from hosting Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) troops to chartering American Heritage Girls (AHG) Troops in the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. GSUSA troops have the opportunity to transition immediately or to allow their members to ‘graduate’ before the shift is implemented; parishes are expected to form AHG Troops, at least for the Kindergarten level (Pathfinders), in the upcoming Program Year.
American Heritage Girls supports the decision of the Archbishop of Kansas City and is praying for all of those involved in these changes. AHG will assist in smoothly implementing these changes within the Kansas City area. Members of the AHG, Inc. Staff are prepared to answer any questions or concerns regarding this decision with great impact. Contact AHG, Inc. with questions at 513-771-2025.
AHG, Inc. encourages Catholic Troops to follow in Kansas City’s footsteps by suggesting that their Archdiocese or Diocese also consider American Heritage Girls as the preferred scouting option for forming young women with the virtues and values of the Gospel.
