Hi! I am a 13-year-old Pioneer and my name is Virginia Rose Hart, but sometimes by friends just call me “Vi”. My parents gave me a patriotic name because I was born in Williamsburg, Virginia, on June 14, Flag Day! My parents gave me the name Virginia because not only was I born in Virginia, but many of our founding fathers were born there, including Thomas Jefferson and George Washington (I love visiting his home at Mount Vernon). My middle name, Rosa, is Spanish for Rose (did you know I can speak both English and Spanish?!). The Rose is the United States' national flower and its scarlet color reminded my parents of the blood that so many soldiers have shed for our freedom. Another cool fact about my name is that I share the last name 'Hart' with 'Honest' John Hart, (Honest, just like in our AHG Creed!) signer of the Declaration of Independence.
When I was 7, I joined American Heritage Girls and loved it from the very beginning. I've always enjoyed camping, being outdoors, spending time with girls my age, and most of all being able to learn and share my growing faith in Jesus Christ. My favorite Badges are Sewing, Horsemanship, Cake Decorating, and Archery. My favorite service project was making care packages for the sick and shut-ins. My favorite school subject is history - I love learning about our country, especially the early colonial period. My favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” These verses always give me courage and confidence in God's special plan for me!
