Ruth Grace

Explorer Doll Profile.jpgNamed by Noelle Grace Ru Chapman of CA2911

Hi, my name is Ruth Grace Clark and I'm a proud AHG Explorer! Before I was adopted, the name Ru (茹) was given to me in China. Like many other AHG girls, I am privileged to have been adopted into a Christian family in America. My family wanted me to retain Ru (茹) in my name, so they named me Ruth. I love my name, because the book of Ruth is one of my most favorite in the Bible. I love how Ruth, a foreigner, stayed with her Jewish mother-in-law and was providentially blessed by God to be Jesus' great-grandmother. My favorite verse even comes from this book--Ruth 1:16: “But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”

My middle name, Grace, is important because as a Christian, I was adopted into God's family by grace through Jesus Christ. My last name, Clark, means a lot to me too, because I admire Sacagawea and how she helped the explorers Lewis and Clark. William Clark adopted Sacagawea's son, Jean Baptiste and promised him an education and a better life – sort of like my story.  It is also significant because of the Explorer Level Award I hope to achieve soon!

I have had so much fun earning Badges this year! My favorite AHG Badges so far are:

        -  World Heritage, because it is important to know of other countries' cultures and traditions
        -  Women Inventors, because it gives me very innovative and smart female role models
        -  Daughter of the King: this is the most meaningful to me because I was adopted as a daughter of my King Jesus!

My favorite service projects are helping and serving people with handicaps in our community as well as donating my allowance to send Bibles to countries in need of them. I am proud that my Troop, CA2911, sponsors a girl in South America who is getting a Christian education and prayerfully, a better life. I have enjoyed writing letters to her and learning what life is like in South America! I love making new friends, so hopefully I can meet you soon – maybe at camp this summer!
