Why Start A Troop?

Many parents today are concerned about society’s impact on our daughters. The media and popular culture are increasingly intolerant of expressions of faith and Biblical truths. Our girls are learning one worldview at home and a completely different one on TV or online. Girls love to look up to someone and emulate what they see, yet positive role models seem fewer all the time. Moms and dads are looking for wholesome opportunities for their girls to make friends and meet role models who live out Christian faith all week long, not just on Sunday mornings.

AHG was created to meet this need, designed to contribute to a girl’s emotional, social and spiritual foundation from early on. AHG allows a girl to put “legs on her faith,” thus becoming an outward sign of Christ’s love in her community.

The benefits for Girl Members in the AHG Ministry are many:

  • Christ-centered foundation for learning
  • Social development opportunities
  • Well-rounded extra-curricular activities to enhance life skills
  • Community service
  • Positive peer influence
  • A safe environment to take risks and try new things

Our Adult Leaders and mentors also reap some amazing spiritual benefits as well:

  • Building relationships with others
  • Community impact
  • Leadership development
  • Partnership in ministry to youth
  • Kingdom building and fulfilling the Great Commission

One person can make the difference in the life of a child. One person can pass on their passion for making positive changes in our culture. And that one person can be YOU!! But you don’t have to do it alone. A Troop Board will help you carry out the mission of AHG by sharing the leadership tasks.

Moms, dads, grandparents, youth workers, pastors, teachers and many others will jump in to assist in the formation of an AHG Troop in your community to develop girls into women of integrity, service, and faith. The AHG experience is structured to build up not only the girl member but the entire family unit.
